Learning your child has autism can be a heartbreaking and confusing experience for a family. Fortunately, there are a host of organizations that provide support while offering care and treatment for those with autism spectrum disorders. Our mission is to raise funding for local and national organizations that are dedicated to the treatment and advocacy of those with autism spectrum disorders.
As a parent of an autistic child, I am intensely aware of the impact autism spectrum disorders have not only on children, but on their families. The emotional, social and financial stress can often be overwhelming.
Our foundation bears the name of my daughter Lily. For many children, early detection of autism is critical. And thanks to the many resources provided by organizations we support, our family was able to recognize the signs when she was just 2 years old. Four years later, Lily's progress has been nothing short of inspiring as she battles this disorder.
It's our hope that together we can educate the public at large about autism and the importance of early detection while giving kids the resources they need to face this challenge head on. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention autism affects 1 in every 110 births in the U.S. and nearly 1 in 70 boys. So, chances are a family member or someone you know is living with autism.
Thank you in advance for your support of Lily’s Foundation.
